Cheaper alternate feedstocks to change petrochemical production trends
Oct 16 : Availability of cheaper alternate feedstocks and emergence of new technologies will economize petrochemical productions in the days to come, as highlighted in a presentation titled, "Technology and Raw Materials for Petrochemicals-Opportunities and Threats", delivered by Bipin V Vora, a consultant with UOP, at the Petrotech 2012 Conference at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today.  During the presentation, Vora highlighted the cheap feedstocks available for petrochemical production, and the related technologies which UOP provides.

Invista highlights advantageous PTA and PET technologies at Petrotech 2012
Oct 16 : India is set to almost triple plastics consumption by the next decade, and not only plastics consumption is rising rapidly in the country, but also, the country has already established itself firmly on the global map as a major petrochemical production centre. In order to cater to the rising demand for plastics in the country, it is pertinent for Indian producers to have access to latest technologies that are environment friendly, process resources more efficiently and safe for workers. In the Petrotech 2012 Conference at Vigyan Bhawan today, Ian T Woodcock, of Invista Performance Technologies (headquartered in UK), delivered a presentation titled, "Polymer and Fibre Technologies to meet India's growing needs", in which, he highlighted technologies of his company which could be beneficial for Indian petrochemical producers.

RIL restarts PVC plant
Oct 16 : Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has restarted operations of its 360 kilo tonne per annum PVC plant, which was shut-down for maintenance, according to a personnel at the plant who was contacted.
