PVC prices underwent lean fluctuations this week

PVC price underwent lean fluctuations in the major polymer markets in India during the week ended on December 28, 2013. Demand for the Vinyl-based polymer was strong as manufacturing of end-products were going on actively in the major manufacturing hubs in the country.

During the week, there was no influence of any major international price movement on PVC price in India.

PP prices were assessed slightly up in the major polymer markets in India in the week ended on December 28, 2013. Buyers preferred to purchase the raw material on the basis of their immediate needs in view of the uncertainty in price movements in the coming days.

During the week, there was no influence of any international price movement on PP price in India.

PE prices in the major polymer markets in India underwent moderate upward movement during the week ended on December 28, 2013. The price movements were due to tight stock situations in most markets in the country.

Buyers continued to prefer the need-based raw material purchase strategy to guard against the uncertain price outlook in the near future.

PVC prices remained unchanged this week and demand conditions were moderate

PVC prices were assessed almost unmoved in the major polymer markets in India during the week ended on December 21, 2013. Demand conditions were moderate and buyers mostly procured on need basis, abstaining from bulk purchases.

During the week, there was no producer price hike.

In the South East Asian region, the price was assessed stable at $1,007 per metric tonne.

PP prices underwent meager fluctuations in Indian polymer markets in the week ended on December 21, 2013. Demand conditions were moderate, and buyers preferred the need-based purchase strategy to procure the PP material. 

There was no producer price change in respect to the PP material during the week under consideration.

In the South East Asian region, prices of the Injection Moulding grade of the PP material was assessed higher by $5 per metric tonne, at $1,537 per metric tonne.

PE prices moved very leanly & demand conditions were moderate this week

PE prices moved very leanly in the major polymer markets in India during the week ended on December 21, 2013. Demand conditions were moderate and most buyers preferred the need-based procurement strategy.

During the week, Indian producers raised their PE prices. Reliance Industries Limited raised its HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE prices by Re 1 a kg respectively. IOCL raised its HDPE and LLDPE prices by Re 1 a kg respectively. And, GAIL raised its HDPE and LLDPE prices by Re 1 a kg.

During the week there was no international price influence on the prices in the country.

In the South East Asian region, prices of the Blow Moulding and Injection Moulding grades of HDPE were assessed stable at $1,522 per metric tonne respectively.  LDPE price in the region were assessed down by $10 per metric tonne, at $1,682 per metric tonne. LLDPE price was assessed down by $5 per metric tonne, at $1,547 per metric tonne

PVC prices remained almost stable in the major markets of India during the week ended on December 14, 2013. Demand conditions were moderate, and manufacturing of end products were active.

During the week, price of the polymer was not influenced by any major international price movement. In the South East Asian region, PVC price moved up by $5 per metric tonne to $1,007 per metric tonne.

In the coming week, PVC prices in the country are expected not to undergo any major movement, with demand remaining moderately firm.

PE prices underwent minimal movements in the major polymer markets in India during the week ended on December 14, 2013. Prevalence of active manufacturing of end-items kept off-takes of the raw material frequent in the markets, resulting traders seeing moderate demand conditions.

During the week, there was no influence of international price movements. In the South East Asian region, prices of the Blow Moulding and Injection Moulding grades of the polymer moved up by $10 per metric tonne and $20 per metric tonne to $1,522 per metric tonne respectively.

LDPE price in the South East Asian region moved down by $10 per metric tonne to $1,692 per metric tonne; and LLDPE price traversed downwards by $5 per metric tonne to $1,552 per metric tonne.

In the coming week, PE prices in the country are expected not to undergo any major movement, with demand remaining moderately firm.

In the coming week, demand conditions will remain strong, and no major price movements could be expected.

PP Dossier, November 30, 2013

PP prices underwent lean movements in Indian polymer markets during the week ended on November 30, 2013. Demand continued to remain strong as full-fledged manufacturing activities were going on in the country.

Buyers purchased actively to cater to their production needs and also to stock raw material inventories. The majority of buyers preferred domestic PP rather than the imported polymer.

During the week under consideration,  prices of the Injection Moulding grade of PP moved up by $10 per metric tonne in the South East Asian region by $10 per metric tonne to $1,527 per metric tonne CFR.

PVC prices exhibited meager fluctuations in Indian polymer markets during the week ended on November 30, 2013.  Due to active manufacturing activities going on in the country, demand for polymer continued to remain strong during the week.

There was also no supply disruption during the week, and stocks were ample.

During the week, price of the polymer went up considerably by $25 per metric tonne to $1,002 per metric tonne CFR in the South East Asian region.

Demand conditions were strong on account of active manufacturing activities going on in various manufacturing clusters in the country. PE prices underwent minimal fluctuations in Indian polymer markets during the last week of November 2013. Demand conditions were strong on account of active manufacturing activities going on in various manufacturing clusters in the country.

Buyers purchased not only to cater to their production needs but also to stock raw materials that resulted in traders seeing vigorous off-takes.

During the week under review, prices of the Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding and Film grades of HDPE moved upwards by $5 per metric tonne, $10 per metric tonne and $5 per metric tonne to $1,512 per metric tonne CFR, $1,522 per metric tonne CFR and $1,532 per metric tonne CFR respectively.  These upward price movements did not, however, impact prices in India.
