PA price likely to remain stable on uniform demand conditions

The price of Polyamide (PA) hasn't moved significantly since the beginning of this month while the demand for the engineering plastic has been moderate in the Indian market. Indianpetrochem surveyed the market sentiments by talking to various traders across the country, in order to comprehend the demand condition from the end-user industries with respect to the engineering polymer.

Strong off-takes from the textile industry has maintained steady demand for the engineering plastics in the Mumbai market, according to a trader. The trader further added that the price of the engineering plastic has remained steady in Mumbai since the last few weeks as a result of stable demand conditions.

Another trader in the Mumbai market said," Prices of PA is not expected to change from the current rates in the medium term as there is no likelihood for end-users to curtail their production rates".

In  Mumbai market, PA6 grade trades within the range of Rs. 222-228 per kg while PA 66 grade sells at levels of Rs. 213-219 per kg.

A Delhi based trader told the website that moderate off-takes from the automotive sector has maintained the demand for the engineering plastic in the national capital.

The trader went on to add that, "There is good demand from two-wheeler manufacturing unit  but weak demand from the four wheeler manufacturing segment. As such, the overall demand for the engineering plastic in the automotive sector remains moderate in Delhi".

The website understood from the traders that the demand for the engineering plastic from the automotive sector will most likely take of in the long -run, over the next two year. Until then, the demand is expected to remain  more or less stable in the near future.

In Delhi market PA6 sells at Rs. 218 per kg; the prices haven't moved significantly this month due to the moderate demand conditions.

Taking into account the possible demand pattern for the engineering polymer in the foreseeable future, the price of PA is not likely to deviate remarkably as demand from the end-users sectors, mainly automotive and textile, is going to remain almost constant in the future.
