Ensuing Winter Season Weakens LAB Demand in India

Demand for LAB has been slow in Indian markets as off-takes from the surfactant industry have gone down due to the ensuing winter season. Traders preferred to maintain low inventories in view of the weakening demand.

Currently, the import booking price at the Western Coast is at $1,800 per metric tonne CIF; and at $1,835 per metric tonne CIF at the Eastern Coast of the country.

Nirma has quoted its ex-work basic price at Rs 118 per kg. Meanwhile, other domestic producers also have quoted their ex-work basic prices at around the same rate.
