PE prices: lean fluctuations prevailed in the major polymer markets in India during the week

PE prices lean fluctuations prevailed in the major polymer markets in India during the week ended on December 7, 2013. Demand conditions continued to remain strong on active off-takes in the markets.

PE off-takes were strong as full-fledged manufacturing activities were going on in the country that necessitated active PE purchases.

During the week, there was no influence of international price movements.

In the South East Asian, prices of the Injection Moulding and Blow Moulding grades of HDPE went down by $10 per metric tonne to $1,502 per metric tonne and $1,512 per metric tonne respectively.  Prices of the LDPE and LLDPE materials in the region went up by $10 per metric tonne to $1,702 per metric tonne and $1,557 per metric tonne respectively.

In the coming week, demand conditions will remain strong, and no major price movements could be expected.
